Midnight Holiday Monday with Julie

Julie: Ya know, sometimes I like to sit here and look

out of the porch window.

Sometimes I like to sit in  my box and look out of the window.

 I really like to look out of the kitchen window.

That's because it is where the food is !

Sometimes, I just like to wander around.

It's nice to have options.

I am happy today because Mom is home!

That's because it is Victoria Day in Canada.

Happy day to those that celebrate!

Hanging with Mom

Julie: I like having Mom home when she is on staycation.

I especially like it when she is in the kitchen.

Hmmmmm, I need a good place to sit and watch what she 

is doing. She may be fixing herself something to eat.

I will need to be sure that she shares!

There, up on this cabinet is a great place to observe Mom.

Oh boy! I think she is getting some cheese for her bagel.

I like cheese.

See! It pays to watch Mom!

Mom is Back !

Julie: Well, Mom is back home. She spent most of the week

galavanting with her family.

She only popped in a couple of times.

The kitty sitter looked after us quite well though.

Do you think I was upset with Mom for

abandoning me and my siblings ?

Nope! I'm just glad she's back and I get on my porch

again! I am also glad to get all my scritches and belly rubs.

I am happy Mom is back, though I prefer she does not go away.

She's Back!

On May 19th, mom brought up the big suitcase from the basement and started tossing clothes into it. Mija and I don't like that because it means she's going away on a trip that's more than a couple days. We were right. She left on the 22nd and came back on the 30th. That's a long time. Mom's best friend checks in on us every day but she's not mom. I didn't leave my corner of mom's bed for more than food and the occasional sits by the door when Pam came to feed us.

So mom is back. I decided the best place to be on Friday night was over the back of the recliner so I could be close to demand ear scratches.

Yesterday, mom laid out her clothes for the day. When she does this, I don't know if she's leaving and never coming back or just going off to work. I think I need to make sure she doesn't go anywhere.

She tricked me into moving by putting other clothes on the bed. I wasn't sure which clothes to lie on so I moved to the new pile and she quick got dressed. I'm going to have to rethink my delaying tactics here. She was just leaving to return the rental car she drove to Virginia and back to see her daughter. Mom came back after going to lunch with Pam.

I get kinda worried that she's going to go somewhere so I've been following her around. Today, she spent part of the morning cleaning out all the boxes she brought home. Boxes! I had to supervise. Some of the boxes are too small for me so those are going into the recycling can. She did bring home a perfectly Pilchard-sized one, however.

Mom says she's not going anywhere now until October, except for an overnight for work. I hope not. I miss her, as does Mija, when she goes away. She says a vacation is good for her and for us. Whatever. Now we can get back to the business of catching these June bugs that have somehow gotten into the house.

Midnight Monday and Mom is Back!

Mom was on vacation all last week. She was around for s

few days, then abandoned us to a sitter!!! Now she is back 

and we are happy,happy kitties!

What! Wait! You just get back and already with the 

camera!!!!!!!!!! Arghhh!!!

Darn cameras anyway!

Oh well, I have friends that want to see me, so I better

pose so they can see my pretty face .

I suppose you want to see Tillie too.

She was so happy to get back on the porch, she just about

slept in her box all weekend.

She only got up to snuggle with Mom and eat! Hahaha!!

 Mom went  to visit a sister that lives near Wolfville.

Mom went with our furcousin's Mom,and her sister visiting from 

Ottawa. Mom has 3 sisters. Not far from where Mom's sister lives

there is this handsome horse who came over to say Hi!

This fine looking horse is in the same field.

They are quite friendly.

The 4 sisters then went to visit their Mom(Grammie)  

and her 2  brothers. One brother manages a vineyard and 

will soon be taking on another startup vineyard.

He also has a small vineyard of his own.

These vines are 3 years old and will be ready for harvest next year.

The grapes of these vines will go into sparkling wines. The local

wineries here do quite well in Nova Scotia and beyond.

 Here, Mom's brother is leading his siblings into the rows of vines.

Mom said she had a great vacation, but we are happy 

that she is back here with us !!!

 Julie: Hmmmmm! I hear someone coming. 

Hey guys!!!!!!!!!! Mom's home!!!!!!

Mom is back home again and not doing double duty

with us and our furcousins anymore! WooHoo!!!

I love having Mom home all the time because I really like Mom.

I like to follow her and snooze in her lap. I am happy !

Even though Tillie is sleeping, she is really happy Mom is back!

In addition to all the snuggles and scritches she thinks Mom is hers!

Tillie is a diva kitty, but she has to share!

The other reason Tillie is happy to have Mom home is because

she says she sleeps better when Mom is home.

Now that is something we can agree on !!!!!!!

Stygian Saturdays

Hi everyone, it's me, Stygia. You can call me Styggie if you like. I've had a rough week because for most of it, my favorite person was away. We asked and asked and asked our other person in the house, "Where is she? Where?!" I did not actually care where she was, I just wanted her to return home, where she belongs, but I began to fear she never would.

But now she is back! And I am so, soooo happy. In fact, I am sharing her chair with her, sitting right behind her and helping her to stay warm, right as we speak. I never sat here before, but now I have to make sure I stay close by so I know exactly where she is.

This Saturday, let us all spend the day cuddling and being happy that our favorite people are here. Well, you don't have to -- if you're a House Panther, you should pretty much be able to do whatever you want. But I know what I'm going to be doing today!
