Huggy Bear is just a big black, floofy, huggily mancat. He lives with Jasper McKitten-Cat, Josie and Maggie in South Carolina. I have used Photoshop's smudge stick filter on him and did some color correction to try to get rid of the overwhelming yellow-green. But HuggyBear has such big golden eyes, there is not much you can do there!

Look, Don't Touch Your whiskers should never be trimmed, cut or otherwise disturbed. Unlike regular follicles, experts say, whiskers contain blood sinuses that connect to a nerve bundle, making the very tips - similar to human finger tips sensation - sensitive to air currents. The slighted touch can cause a cat to blink.
Veterinarians say that messing with a cat's whiskers is a big no-no. "As a cat doctor, I try to avoid annoying my patients more than I have to," McFarland says. When it comes to whiskers, she handles them minimally. "It's mean to cut a cat's whiskers," she adds.
Robyn Jaynes, Petsmart's veterinary and pet care expert, concurs. "From a general practitioner's point of view, (cats) need them for balance and movement and for sensing purposes."
More on Whiskers as Whisker Week continues tomorrow, here on House Panthers!
Help Higgins! Higgins, a beautiful 3 year old long haired House Panther is looking for a furrever home in the Los Angeles, California, area. I must say, he is a very handsome Mancat and I'm told he's very lovable as well.
Higgins has been features on Kat's Cat of the Day as well as Grr, Midnight & Cocoa's Blog.
If you can let Higgins into your heart and your homes, please contact Midnight's Mom for more information.
