Look Mom!

As summer winds down, I find bugs tend to come into the house more. Such was the case last month. I was in my home office and I heard the girls racing around the living room. Then, I heard the distinctive sound of a cat with prey. Oh dear. What, on earth, could they have now.

That's a very large grasshopper. I have no idea how it got into the house, but Pilchard had it cornered, so to speak.

I tried to catch it to toss it outside, not because I didn't want them eating it, but because I didn't want them colliding with something, knocking something over, or getting hurt while chasing it. But, it vaulted away from me and I lost it. Never did find it or any pieces.

We have moths coming in now and I try to catch those and toss them outside for the same reason as mentioned above. It gives them exercise to chase moths, but they don't always watch where they are jumping.

Happy end of summer buggy days to you.

My human says that looks like a katydid - I've never seen one but I would LOVE if one came into the house!

We seem to be having a spiderfest; big, hairy, long-legged and UGLY!

Mom is not fond of bugs and insects indoors.
We do not chase them much and we do not get a lot inside.
We do get mice and Julie loves that!

I found an earwig in my studio yesterday, ugh! Bugs do come into homes now that the weather will be changing one of these days. Cute shots!

Zoe is the mighty hunter here. Moths need to think long and hard before flying in our house. :)
