Thursday! It's Me, MikiCato, from Five Oaks

Hey everyone, we just wanted to let you all know we are still around.  It's been almost 6 months since we hit the blogs but we are going to try to do it again regularly.  Well, I told some folks we'd be posting at our place, Buddy Bear's Cats' World, this past Monday, but that didn't pan out.  So, tonight I though I had best quit dreading and putting it off and get with it.  Not much to talk about, then again, lots to tell, most of which probably won't mean much to many of those reading along here.

The main thing that rides hard on us all is the loss of our little House Panther Granny Kitty, Ms Princess Spooky.  Simply put, I 'tucked' her and Smokey in on the cat porch around 11pm on night last month, and the next morning at breakfast she was not to be seen.  Has not been seen, hide nor hair of, since.  She didn't move to another new forever home as she did when she came to us over 8 years ago, at least if she did, she is now an inside kitty and her presence is being kept a major secret.  We've searched high and low, questioned neighbors, frequent visitors to the neighborhood, and nothing has been learned.

Her bed is still made up in the laundry room, her favorite perch is kept clean and neatly covered with her favorite quarter of flanel blanket on the shelf on the front wall of the cat porch, and her bowl is ready to be refilled should she return.  I don't expect to see her again, but .......

Smokey is still with us out there.  And she is continually sitting out in the yard calling for her in the late evenings, sometimes about sunrise, the time when the two of them would be out greeting the morning sun, checking for possible predators and other such things to chase away from their home.  That little cat shows her loneliness now.  That adds to the hurt.

Well, life goes on, and for Buddy and the four other kitties at Five Oaks Manor, it is still 'One Day at a Time'.  Love is still the guiding light, cuddle is the thrill of the day, and the cat naps aren't bad either.

I'll be back next week, this time hopefully to have some pix of our remaining, and prime star, our House Panther, MikiCato.  Nothing new, but at least for you folks I'm thinking I have a few you have NOT seen.

Until next week, MikiCato sends his love, and thanks for the many queries and prompts (emails) to get back to the blogs.

I am, Roy Sr, aka KnightOwl, and theWizard, Sgt. Pop.

MikiCato and big brother, Buddy Bear take a nap on the bed.
