Julie-Is That a Vishus Deer?

Julie: Yikes! I have never seen one of those before!
What is it?

Is that a vishus deer?

This is the first time Mom has seen a deer in the yard!

What is he trying to say?

Oh, he's hungry.
Guess with all the snow this Winter a lot of outdoor
animals are having a hard time finding food.
We even has more snow Saturday night!

After staying for a while, he is leaving.

What? Wait, where is he going!

He's going up the driveway.

Looks like he is headed home.

I sure hope Mr Deer will find more food to eat.

Happy Monday with Julie

Julie: Saturday was the best day of our weekend.
That's because it was sunny and I was on the porch.
Sunday we had a BIG snowstorm.
It snowed, then it rained and then it froze!
Mom says our city is a big mess.

Be that as it may, all I know is that I cannot get on the porch
and snooze like I did on Saturday !

My big brother JJ wishes he could sleep on the porch too.

The ducks have taken to hanging around our yard.

They have discovered the seeds Mom puts out for the birds.
Well, they are birds too.

While it is not sunny, there is a good thing about today.
Mom is home with us as it is Heritage Day!
I am waiting for her to sit and read her book.
She has a nice warm lap I can sleep in!

Midnight Monday with Julie

Julie: We had a snowstorm yesterday! It snowed and the
wind blew it around most of the day. Then in the late
afternoon, it changed to freezing rain and then rain.
It made a BIG mess that MOm says will get
worse when it freezes!

I tried to look at the snow out the window, but as you can see
it is covered with frost and fog. That is because Mom was
lazy and did not caulk the windows in the Summer. Sheesh!

This is what I saw when I tried to look out of the window.

Not a great view!

However, I finally did manage to see this bird in the feeder
eating seeds Mom put out there when the snow started.
I think the bird and his friends were glad to have some
food they did not have to dig in snow to get!
Makes me glad to be an indoor kitty too.
It's warm and cozy inside!

Midnight Monday with Tillie and Julie

Tillie:  Guess what? We had a BIG snowstorm this weekend!!
We had lots of snow and BIG wind too. It was so
nice to be indoors with Mom. She did go out at times
to shovel snow, but came back to warm up and cuddle
with us ! That was fun !

You can see all the snow! It covered the ramp we have outside
the house. It took Mom a while to move it, heehee.
She moved snow in other places also.

When the storm was not too bad, the birds would come looking for
food. Mom made a path to the birdfeeder and look who came to
dinner!! A panther mourning dove!! He was dining on the
big tree stump next to the birdfeeder.

Julie: Oh yeah!! We had great Bird TV when Mom put the
seeds out. The birds really liked them.

They are tough little birds to come out  when it is snowing.
I guess they have to in order to get something to eat.
It was fun to watch them. It would have been fun to go out
and play with them, but Mom said it was too cold and the
snow was too deep. Well, she shoveled it ...right? So it would
not be so deep. However, it would be cold! I guess
I will stay inside after all.
