Down Under Sunday

Hi kitties.  Once again I am sorry I have been a bit slack about posting but I'm sure most of you have heard about the awful bushfires that are burning near my home town at the moment.  Out in my backyard, we can smell the smoke of the fires.  That's how close they are.  We are not in any danger but there are so many kitties and pups and people that have lost their homes or their lives.  Please also spare a thought for the wild life that is now homeless.  

This photo is of a CFA (Country Fire Authority) volunteer who found a koala after the fire had burnt through her patch of forest, and gave her a bottle of water, and held her little burnt paws in his hand.  She has been named Sam and is now in the care of wildlife protection.  They estimate she will be able to return to the wild in 6 - 8 months.

The RSPCA is taking donations to help kitties and pups in need.

Thursday is Grrsday

Remember this? The bell collar that warns Riley that I'm coming to eat her? Well, the (formerly) Blonde Girl thought it was making quite a dent in my beautiful neck furs that she likes to pet. She was right. Anyway, she took it off to see if I'd be a good Grrl and stop chasing the little runt. I was a purrfect angel all day. purrrrrrrrr

But then the people went to sleep, and the chase was on! Three times in one night I chased that little brat down the hall, with her screaming all the way. The best part was that Riley's safety zone is on top of the Lady, sleeping on the couch. Imagine the Lady's delight to wake up to a screaming cat with claws extended jumping on her and trying to hide, over and over all night long. Ahhhh, it's good to be me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Out Of The Blue

I know it's been a really, really long time since I've wrote anything for the House Panthers; but I have been in a protracted contract negotiation (try saying that 5 times fast) with the Humom and we have come to terms and I will now be able to resume some of my bloggin' activities. But I had to make some concessions. There will be no photos of me (I have given up some of my grooming time to allow the Humom to take my dictation-I now only will get 15 min. of brushing every other day instead of 30 min. a day) and I only get 3 days of blog activity a week.
I have to share, it's so unfair.
And in case you didn't know, this is what I have to share my world with. Yep, that's right, yappers. Like a bazillion of them all over the place. This one here is about to take over my bedroom in the next few weeks (well actually it's the humans' room, and I like to sleep there whenever I can sneak in).



Jez here is gonna have a whole new bunch of little yappers soon and we can be sure that they will be black too, since their daddy is black & tan and all of the past yappers have been some form of black (do you see a theme here-the Humom has a thing for us darkies). Oh, I almost forgot, we are havin' another Guess the Litter Contest. Well, I gotta go, my time is limited and Humom says that the house won't clean itself.
