I am most very sorry I am late with this. The wall in the bathroom fall down (I have nothing to do with this), and the digital camera will not turn on (I have nothing to do with this either) and we have been very busy getting ready from the Masquarade tomorrow at Castle Diamond. Stygian Saturdays

Hi everyone! My name is Stygia, and I am a House Panther. Welcome to the weekend. Well, most humans seem to care intently about weekends, so ... (whispers) we House Panthers know how to be discreet. We won't mention that every day is a weekend day for us.

Ahem. (shows fangs)

This weekend I have been fortunate enough to get some time to play with my favorite toys without my sister Abby noticing! If you have any idea how playful she is, or have a crazy and playful sister or brother yourself, you will understand what a feat of nature this was.

Here is an even crazier picture. You see, there is a big pile of nip on the floor which I am consuming at a leisurely pace, and in spite of the fact that she is only a couple of feet away, she doesn't even come out to check out what I am doing! I really can't enjoy my nip properly if she is too close to me. She always tries to bite me when I just want to roll around.

Floofy Friday

Whew - we made it! Moovin' is furry hard werk. I'm just gonna sit here and watch my mom try to put all of the "stuff" away . . .

Sorry we couldn't post last Friday - we had some more "tech-ni-cal-diff-i-culties", but I think my dad got all of those taken care of.

Thursday may be Grrsday...

... but every cat needs a day off once in a while.
Grr is busy taking a nap today, and has asked me to fill in.
Not The Mama says I've done Bad Things - that I've been a Tiny Terror again, and had to have a Time Out last night.
At least Not The Mama put Petey in the Time Out room with me, so I could have some body to pick on  company.
Tell me, do you have to have a Time Out when your bean says you're doing Bad Things?
By the way, I totally don't think I'm being Bad. That's my story, and I'm purring my way into trying to make it stick today...

Bluest of the Blue Wednesday

Bladerunner, a 1 1/2-year-old Russian Blue from Greensboro, NC, became the first of his breed ever to be named America's top cat when he captured the CFA Iams Cat Championship at Madison Square Garden Sunday Night.

Runner's shimmering gray coat, deep green eyes and adorable silver tips won over judges.

"The color was phenomenal, the eyes and the coat both beautiful. The best Russian blue I've ever seen," judge Darrell Newkirk raved just after awarding the Best of the Best title to Runner.

"He was a joy to handle."

"It's the most exciting thing that's ever happened to us," Teresa Keiger and her husband, Rob Miller, Blade's caretakers, were quoted as saying the New York Post.

The blue boy won 400 pounds of Iams cat food and was booked for Monday morning's "Live with Regis and Kelly."

Thursday is Grrsday

I've got a custom made collar tag from PurrPrints, and I think it looks gorgeous with my furs. I've never had anything but a bell on my collar, and now I'm feeling especially beautiful. It even has a seperate little tag saying "Grr". See it? You can biggify, if you'd like. My tag is one of a few demos, but I hear soon there are going to be tags for sale. Check out the site. The Lady bought some kitty art, and it was really lovely. Thank you PurrPrints!

Hi everyone! Since it's getting close to Halloween, the holiday for black cats, I thought I'd share some info about black cats (oh, yeah, my mom helped me a little bit with this).

You know, there's a myth about us black cats -- that we're bad luck and evil. But this myth is a bunch of hooey! Did you know that it's only in the U.S. that black cats are considered bad luck and evil? Here's a few facts about black cats you may not know.

• black cats are considered good luck in England, Japan and Australia
• some believe a bride will have good luck on her wedding day if one of us black cats sneezes near her (I'd like to sneeze on a bride some day!)
• some believe stroking our fur brings health and wealth (you'd think us black cats would be getting a work out these days!)
• having a black cat enter your home is thought to bring good luck
• Fishermen's wives kept black cats while their husbands went away to sea. They believed that black cats would prevent danger from happening to their husbands. Black cats were considered so valuable that they were often stolen. (I hope no one tries to steal me!)
• black cats tend to be the most overlooked in shelters. They're more difficult to adopt from shelters despite being sweet, friendly and well-adjusted. (I'll vouch for that!)

Yep, us black cats are purrty special!
